Fourteen fully funded PhD and two post doc positions available at the Marie Curie ITN: European School of DNA Nanotechnology

The recently established European School of DNA Nanotechnology (EScoDNA) is an Initial Training Network (ITN) under the European Commission’s Marie Curie Actions research fellowship programme. EScoDNA will foster the development of a new generation of scientists with the skills required to meet futures challenges in bionanotechnology, from fundamental science to novel applications.

DNA Nanotechnology is a new and emerging interdisciplinary area with the potential to become a leading technological foundation for the development of future medicines, diagnostic tools, materials, optics and electronics. DNA nanotechnology is based on the ability of DNA sequences to specifically recognize and bind to their complementary counterparts. By design DNA can be programmed to assemble in precisely defined three-dimensional shapes that can have widely varying components attached, such as proteins, organic molecules, carbon nanotubes or other nanoparticles.

We are looking for motivated, creative and flexible students from all over the world. Candidates should have a background in nanotechnology, chemistry, molecular biology, physics, computer science or related fields and be interested in conducting interdisciplinary research in DNA Nanotechnology.
