Job Information
The National Center for Physical Acoustics (NCPA) at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS develops and applies laser vibration measurement techniques to detecting buried objects. Combining expertise in laser vibration sensing, acoustics and soil physics NCPA developed advanced methods for detection of buried objects.
We are currently seeking talented research associates with optics expertise including optical measurements, optical systems design, opto-mechanics, photodetectors, and fiber optics. Prior experience with laser Doppler techniques, interferometry, and CCD or CMOS sensors is an advantage. The successful applicant will contribute to the ongoing work on optimization and extensions of whole field laser vibration sensors.
The successful candidate will work on the development of novel optical techniques for whole field laser vibration sensors.
Ph.D. degree in engineering, physics or a related field. No related experience required.
