The laboratory of Dr. G. Giaccone at the Weill Cornell Medical Center located in New York City, NY, is recruiting 2 postdoctoral fellows for ongoing research in thoracic malignancies. Dr. Giaccone’s lab combines multi-disciplinary approaches to study new targets for treatment of lung cancer and biology of thymic tumors. One project will focus on identification of the function of GTF2I mutation in thymic malignancies, with the use of a knock-in mouse model, development of organoids from patients and an array of in vitro techniques. The other project will study the interaction between the genome of lung cancer and immunogenicity, in particular in the combination of targeted therapies and and/or local therapies (e.g. radiation) with the immune system.
Both projects are translational in nature and will allow for a broad network of interactions with computational, clinical and basic researchers here at Weill Cornell and at other institutions. The positions are open to graduating Ph.D. students and current postdoctoral fellows. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and a strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry and animal models. Competitive salary will be offered and the starting date is flexible.
