Job Summary
A postdoctoral position is available at the University of Michigan for a collaborative project between the labs of Drs. Arun Anantharam, Ronald W. Holz, and Daniel Axelrod.
Our labs have published extensively on the mechanisms underlying regulated exocytosis. In addition, we have pioneered the use of Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence (TIRF) microscopy to monitor exo/endocytosis in primary neuroendocrine cells. We are looking for a talented cell and molecular biologist who is eager to apply novel optical techniques to study vesicle trafficking and fusion in chromaffin cells and pancreatic beta-cells. One of our major goals is to extend cell-based imaging studies of vesicle fusion into the in vivo realm with 1 and 2 photon lightsheet imaging.
Required Qualifications*
PhD in cell and molecular biology or related science.
