The Department of Food & Fuel for the 21st Century at UCSD is seeking two highly motivated research scientists. Qualified candidates must have a PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry or other biotechnology related degree. A demonstrated ability in molecular genetics is required while expertise in computational biology or high throughput screening of single celled organisms is desirable. Previous work in algae is desired but not essential. The project objective is to develop and demonstrate advanced genetic tools for engineering green algae for the production of high value products such as recombinant proteins and lipids….
