Postdoctoral Fellow in Cancer Biology : Cleveland, OH, United States

A new Postdoctoral Fellow position is open immediately at the Division of Cancer Biology, MetroHealth Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland, Ohio, USA.

Our research focuses on the basic molecular mechanisms and therapeutic interventions of tumor metastasis that account for 90% of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Current projects include 1) the relationship between cancer stem cell properties and malignant progression, 2) structure and function characterization of EphA2 receptor tyrosine kinase in regulating malignant behaviors, 3) obesity-induced inflammation in tumor initiation and metastasis, 4) discovery and optimization of novel small molecule drugs targeting molecular pathways that drive tumor invasion and metastasis. Multidisciplinary approaches are utilized including in vitro cell culture, genetically engineered mouse models (GEMM), virtual screening coupled with medicinal chemistry, fluorescence cross-correlation spectrometry, epithelial organoids isolation and culture, as well as patient-derived xenografts (PDX). Over the years, the lab has made multiple seminal contributions to our current understanding of Eph receptor tyrosine kinases in tumor initiation, local invasion and distal metastasis that are published in journals such as Nature Cell Biol, Cancer Cell, Science Signaling, Cancer Res, and JCB.
