Job Description
A postdoctoral position is available in the area of anticoagulation therapy. Our laboratory uses imaging data to study a variety of molecular mechanisms related to cancer and cardiovascular disease . More recently, we have developed innovative technology that can monitor heparin anticoagulation therapy with novel venous catheters. The primary goal of this postdoctoral fellowship is to optimize and deploy this technology in rabbit models of human disease as well as clinical translation with banked human samples. Side projects will be encouraged including those that use imaging to improve surgical outcomes.
Interested applicants must have a PhD biology, hematology, biomedical sciences, biomedical engineering or any closely related field. Preference will be given to applicants with an outstanding publication record and expertise in thrombosis, hemostasis, and coagulation as well as molecular biology and animal models of human disease. Applicants should be highly motivated, creative, and independent and be interested in a multi-disciplinary approach involving chemistry, engineering, optics, and clinical translation. The work will be conducted in beautiful La Jolla, California with a fantastic climate and excellent quality of life.
