The University of Miami is accepting applications for a postdoctoral research associate in the Statistical Genomics and Bioinformatics Lab at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center to work on cancer genomic research. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to develop and implement innovative computational approaches for analyzing high throughput genomic data, including but not limited to, integrated cancer risk prediction model, cancer subtype discovery, gene network construction, genomic and epi-genomic data integration, single cell RNA-Seq data analysis, non-coding RNA data analysis and others. We are especially interested in precision medicine research using genomic data information for colorectal cancer and triple-negative breast cancer, and the positions will be supported by multiple NCI R01 grants focusing on translational bioinformatics for cancer treatment and biomarker discovery. Our lab has close connection with the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource in Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, which provides opportunities to work with outstanding cancer genomic researchers and data generated from cutting-edge genomic technologies. The candidates will be working in a collaborative environment with multiple faculty members, biostatisticians and bioinformaticians on translational cancer research. The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Statistics, Genetics, Computer Science, or a related field. Excellent communications skills in English (both verbal and written). Proficiency in using R/Bioconductor and Perl/Python for genomic data analysis is required.
