Postdoctoral Research Fellow / Research Associate in Metabolism and Cancer : Melbourne, Australia
The Cellular Signalling and Human Disease Laboratory is seeking highly motivated Postdoctoral Researchers to join the team.
Research into cancer metabolism and obesity-associated liver cancer. The project will take advantage of cancer cell models, animal models, pharmacological approaches and human liver cancer specimens and xenografts to determine the molecular mechanisms by which obesity drives the development of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs) and explore novel approaches for combating the development of HCC in obesity.
Research to characterise the role of ROS in glucose metabolism. The project will take advantage of cell models, conditional knockout mice and pharmacological approaches to determine the role of reactive oxygen species and phosphatases in metabolism, obesity and type 2 diabetes.
A PhD and a track record in animal experimentation, metabolic assays and biochemistry/cell biology are essential.
