The Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) was established as a research institute of the University of Queensland in 2003. The Institute is now operating out of a new state-of-the-art facility and houses 33 Principal Investigators with strong international reputations. The QBI is one of the largest neuroscience institutes in the world dedicated to understanding the mechanisms underlying brain function. The role

The successful appointee will examine the synaptic function in both cellular and circuit level in C.elegans. Specifically this project will examine how the synaptic proteins like unc-13, unc-2, eat-16 and cpx-1 regulate the synaptic transmission at the NMJs.

The person

Applicants should possess PhD qualifications in relevant disciplines. You should also have demonstrated expert knowledge in cellular signal transduction, very good writing abilities, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at Academic level A for 12 months in the first instance.  The remuneration package will be in the range of $60,829 - $82,510 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range of $71,169 - $96,537 p.a.).
