Promoting Interdisciplinary Scientific Excellence at the FLI

Postdoc Position for the FLI PostDoc Network - “Aging
induced impairments of regeneration and stem cell
functionality – RegenerAging”

The FLI is an internationally renowned research institute focused on the biology of aging. We are currently seeking outstanding young scientists to join our new interdisciplinary PostDoc Network. Our program is tailored towards fostering early career development, while promoting scientific excellence in biomedical sciences on aging, stem cells and tissue regeneration (find out more – http://www.fli-leibniz.de/careers/postdoc_network_en.php).

We offer a Postdoc position for the Network RegenerAging on “aging induced impairments in regeneration and stem cell functionality” across different organs and model organisms. The network involves the following research groups:

1. Impact of the mTOR pathway on stem cell aging and regeneration
Englert Research Group (http://www.fli-leibniz.de/groups/englert_en.php)

2. Aging induced impairments in protein trafficking control affecting muscle regeneration Kaether Research Group / von Maltzahn Research Group
(http://www.fli-leibniz.de/groups/kaether_en.php http://www.fli-leibniz.de/groups/maltzahn_en.php)

3. Aging induced alterations in Ezrin driven peripheral nerve regeneration
Morrison Research Group (http://www.fli-leibniz.de/groups/morrison_en.php)

4. Genes regulating hematopoietic stem cells quiescence and aging
Rudolph Research Group (http://www.fli-leibniz.de/groups/rudolph_en.php)

5. Non-DDR functions of ATR/NBS1 in the maintenance of adult neurons
Wang Research Group (http://www.fli-leibniz.de/groups/wang_en.php)

We intend to boost interdisciplinary collaborations involving clinician scientists, basic scientists and bioinformaticians. We aim to cultivate gender equality in order to secure more females in future leadership roles. Our intention is to create a solid collaborative training program that promotes new ways of working and thinking, and to connect Postdocs with our international exchange program.

Criteria
Eligible are qualified applicants that have just recently completed or are about to complete their MD or PhD in a biomedical related field with a high profile publication.
