A dynamic biomedical research team at Duke is seeking a motivated postdoc to investigate how the NO derivative SNO is exported by human red blood cells (RBCs) in health and disease, and how this might be disturbed in severe infection (sepsis). The successful applicant will lead an NIH-funded project at Duke using novel mouse and cell models to investigate this novel RBC activity. Interested candidates familiar with mouse physiology, molecular and (endothelial) cell biology, or NO-based signaling will be advantaged, as will those with a track record of high-quality research. The position is available for up to a three-year period. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
