Postdoctoral positions are available immediately in a cancer research laboratory located within The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center to work in the areas of cancer genetics and cancer signaling. The lab currently studies energy metabolism and nutrient sensing in cancer development and stem cells (see our publications, Cancer Res. 2014; 74(6):1682-93; Oncogene. 2014; Nature. 2011; 468(7324):701-4; Cancer Cell. 2010; 18(5):472-84; Cell Cycle. 2009; 8(7):1003-6; PNAS. 2008; 105(49):19384-9). The lab is extremely well funded to support various projects related to the research topics described above (for the list of funded grants, see the lab website at http://faculty.mdanderson.org/Boyi_Gan/Default.asp)

Qualified candidates should have strong background in one or more of the following areas: molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, cancer genetics. Previous experience in generating and analyzing mouse models is desirable. We prefer candidates who are about to graduate with PhD or MD/PhD degree, or have graduated within the last 12 months. A track record of excellent first author publication during PhD training is essential.

MD Anderson is ranked No. 1 in cancer care in the United States by the U.S.News and World Report’s “America’s Best Hospitals” survey. It ranks 1st in the number of awarded grants from National Cancer Institute. It offers active graduate and postdoctoral training programs and the unmatched scientific environment of the Texas Medical Center, the world’s largest biomedical center. MD Anderson is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.

The interested candidates should send a CV, 3-4 reference letters and a research statement describing research interest and career goals to Dr. Boyi Gan at bgan@mdanderson.org.
