Postdoctoral Scientist - Computational and Systems Biology

John Innes Centre, Norwich

Applications are invited to join the Grieneisen Lab in the Department of Computational and Systems Biology at the John Innes Centre, as a Postdoctoral Scientist and as member of the Swarm Organ Consortium. Swarm-Organ is one of the 7 projects integrated to FoCAS (Fundamentals of Collective Adaptive Systems). This coordination action is an umbrella project which aims to integrate, coordinate and help increase visibility for research carried out in the FET FoCAS Proactive Initiative and in research fields related to collective adaptive systems.

Applicants are expected to have a PhD in physics, mechatronics, computer science, theoretical biology or related field and an advanced knowledge of complex systems, with a high quality publication history or having demonstrated strong use of computational methods. A background in theoretical biology (biological modelling) is desirable, but not necessary. Experience in computer programming, robotics or spatial modelling is desirable. The position is flexible for experienced researchers with a high degree of interest in spatial dynamics of self-organising systems.
