Dr. Tim Vogel’s lab in the Divisions of Neurosurgery and Developmental Biology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research fellow in developmental neuroscience, focusing on cilia signaling in neural progenitor cells in murine models (http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/bio/v/timothy-vogel/). The major goals of our research are to understand the neural stem cell differentiation and ciliary signaling mechanisms that lead to hydrocephalus (see Nature Medicine 18,1797–1804 (2012)). Our lab employs ciliopathy mouse genetic models with in vivo and in vitro systems to study the genesis of hydrocephalus. These include novel in vivo cilia subcellular imaging techniques, molecular/cellular neurobiology, protein biochemistry, genetic, and pharmacological methods.

Highly motivated postdoctoral candidates with a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in neuroscience, genetics, developmental biology, molecular/cellular biology, regenerative biology, or biochemistry are encouraged to apply. A strong background in biochemical, cellular, neuroscience, genetic, or developmental biology in mouse models is preferred. To apply online go to: http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/careers/apply/default.htm and search for requisition 68711. Please upload your cv, cover letter including a statement of research interests, and contact information for 3 references.
