The Institute for Infrastructure Engineering (IIE) at the University of Western Sydney builds on the work of the Civionics Research Centre. The Institute expands engineering research beyond civil and electronic engineering into the areas of structural systems, computational mechanics, construction materials, and structural health monitoring.

The Institute is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Infrastructure Systems.

We seek an energetic, forward thinking, dynamic, and innovative scholar to take on a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Infrastructure Systems. The successful applicant is expected to be developing a strong international standing and research reputation, an excellent research background in the area of Infrastructure Systems, the potential to win competitive research income, and an excellent publication record.

As Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you are expected to conduct high level independent research. You will also initiate and prepare applications for funding in collaboration with researchers within IIE and UWS, and with other research organisations as well as secure funding from government and/or industry sources. It is expected that you publish in high quality journals and present at high level conferences.

Eligibility: Applicants must possess a PhD in Structural Engineering, with skills in finite element structural analysis, development of finite element code, and in the use of general purpose finite element programs.

This is a full time, fixed term (3 years) appointment based at Penrith (Kingswood) campus.

Remuneration Package: Academic Level A $91,289 to $96,851 p.a. (comprising Salary $77,140 to $81,840 p.a., plus 17% Superannuation, and Leave Loading)
