We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join the Oxford Centre for the Study of Corruption and Transparency (OCSCT) to undertake research on the use of Open Data as a tool to prevent and detect corruption in the United Kingdom, as part of a joint project with the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham. The centre is based within Kellogg College, Oxford.

The post is for 1 year. The postholder will engage in research on the project in three main ways: (i) analyse the legal and policy framework in the United Kingdom with regard to Open Data and the Freedom of Information Act; (ii) research and evaluate the implementation of relevant law and policy; and (iii) engage in survey and interview research to determine how the public understands and uses these tools. The postholder will report to the OCSCT’s Director, Dr Liz David-Barrett, and the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Nottingham, Professor Paul Heywood. Responsibilities will include desk, survey and interview research, organisation of dissemination events, collaboration in the preparation of research publications, and the presentation of papers at conferences.

The person appointed should be experienced in conducting qualitative research and should ideally have prior experience in working on issues relevant to corruption and transparency.
