Postdoctoral Research Scientist
Salary range £28,977 p.a. to £32,196 p.a.

The Babraham Institute is a charity which is world renowned for its research in life sciences to enhance lives and improve wellbeing.

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated candidate who shares a passion for scientific discovery to join an interactive, interdisciplinary and international team. The Postdoctoral Research Scientist will work on core BBSRC funding at the Babraham Institute on a project to investigate the causes of inter-individual variability in the longevity pathways and its consequences for healthy ageing using Caenorhabditis elegans as a model system. This follows recent insights gained into the mechanisms of inter-individual variability in the expression of chaperones, published in Science (2012) 335(6064): 82-5 and Nature (2011) 480(7376): 250-3.

Candidates must have a PhD in genetics, developmental biology, molecular biology, systems biology or a related biological discipline. In addition, applicants must also have a working knowledge of genetics and preferably be competent in single cells genomic techniques, and have knowledge of C.elegans on a model system.

The successful applicant will join an interactive, multidisciplinary team in the Epigenetics Programme http://www.babraham.ac.uk/our-research/epigenetics/ at the Babraham Institute.
