Institute of Clinical Medicine – K. G. Jebsen Center for Cancer Immunotherapy

Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Medical Sciences
The K.G. Jebsen Center for Cancer Immunotherapy (JCIT) is a new virtual research center awarded funding by the Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Foundation and the University of Oslo (UiO) for 4 years and the prospect of another funding period. The center comprises the research groups of 6 principal investigators, of which 5 are located within the UiO/Oslo University Hospital (OUH) Medical Campus, and one partner is located at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. The research environment is highly dynamic with extensive interaction between the groups. JCIT currently seeks a highly motivated and competitive scientist with a track record of publications in high impact journals. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in cellular and/or molecular immunology, according to the project description below. The position in question is that of a Postdoctoral Fellow SKO1352, so applicants must hold a PhD (or near completion) within experimental science. The main objective of appointments to the position of post doctoral fellow is to qualify researchers for work in top academic positions within their respective area of study.

Project title and description: Identification of T cell receptors to novel targets in cancer immunotherapy
T-cell based immunotherapy of cancer has recently emerged as a promising therapeutic option. The group has developed technology for high-throughput and direct identification of novel T cell targets (epitopes) for immunotherapy. The project will utilize this technology to identify T cells reactive with the epitopes, and the T cell receptors will be cloned and characterized. The group collaborates with the group of Ton N. Schumacher for high-throughput identification of T cell receptor repertoires (www.nki.nl/divisions/immunology/schumacher-t-group/ ). Furthermore, T cells reactive with neo -antigens in a successful recently completed clinical trial using novel immunotherapy of follicular lymphoma, will be characterized. Candidates with a strong background in cellular and/or molecular immunology (molecular biology) and flow cytometry are encouraged to apply. The project will be performed mainly at Oslo University Hospital Radiumhospitalet, with possibilities for exchange visits between partner labs. Inquiries regarding the position can be directed to Johanna Olweus (johanna.olweus@medisin.uio.no)
